Deanne Criswell, Commissioner of the New York City Emergency Management Department, and Andrew Phelps, Director of the Oregon Office of Emergency Management, will be sharing the lessons they have learned as emergency managers during civil unrest, and how their organizations are developing a sustainable approach to addressing inequality in their diverse communities.
The conversation will focus on the role emergency managers play during civil unrest and protest and touch on how emergency managers can work with and listen to the communities they serve.
